Review Comments: A special DVD/CD collection from Dark Star Orchestra's charity performance at the Rex Foundation's annual "Black Tie-Dye Ball" held at the Park West Theatre in Chicago, IL on March 6, 2004. The collection includes a DVD, plus a 3-CD multi-track recording, of that night's DSO performance of one of THE GRATEFUL DEAD's most famous concerts from Cornell University on May 8, 1977. The DVD collection is further enhanced by guest sound-engineer Betty Cantor- Jackson who as the Grateful Dead's sound engineer in the 70's also mixed the live performance of the original Grateful Dead show. An interview with Betty, and Jerry Garcia’s common-law widow Carolyn “Mountain Girl” Garcia is also included on the DVD. The majority of the proceeds of this DVD/CD collection will go to the Rex Foundation - a non-profit charity founded by the late Jerry Garcia and other Grateful Dead band members in the mid-80s.
